These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Secoryx mobile application and this website (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using Secoryx, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
By using Secoryx, you confirm that you've read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Secoryx is an end-to-end encrypted messaging application. It lets you exchange messages with contacts you've paired with directly via QR code, without requiring a phone number, email address, or account. The Service is provided as-is and may be updated, changed, or discontinued at our discretion.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use Secoryx. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. Because Secoryx has no account system, we have no technical way to verify age — this is a condition of use you agree to, not something we can enforce mechanically.
Secoryx doesn't use accounts, so there's nothing for us to recover if you lose access. Your on-device ID and encryption keys live only on your device. If you uninstall the app, reset it, or lose your device, your identity and message history are gone — permanently, and by design. This isn't a bug we intend to fix; it's the tradeoff for not holding a database of who you are.
What this means for you
Back up anything important outside the app if it matters to you. We have no mechanism, and no data, to restore a lost identity or conversation history.
You agree not to use Secoryx to:
Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot see message content and cannot proactively moderate it. Enforcement of this section relies on user reports and the technical signals available to us (such as abuse reports about a specific on-device ID), not content review.
We design Secoryx to keep message content unreadable to anyone but the sender and recipient. That said, no encryption system eliminates all risk: device compromise, screenshotting by the recipient, or a compromised endpoint are outside what encryption in transit can protect against. We make no guarantee of message delivery, delivery timing, or availability of the relay infrastructure at all times.
The Secoryx name, logo, and application code (except any portions explicitly released under an open-source license) are the property of the Secoryx team. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the application outside the terms of any applicable open-source license we publish alongside the source.
Secoryx relies on third-party infrastructure providers for functions like push notifications and message relay hosting. Your use of the Service is also subject to the applicable terms of these providers where relevant to their part of the infrastructure.
Because there's no account, there's nothing for us to "ban" in the traditional sense. We may block a specific on-device ID from our relay infrastructure if it's associated with abuse, and we may discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time. You can stop using Secoryx at any time simply by uninstalling the app.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Secoryx team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of messages, or loss of access to your on-device identity, arising from your use of the Service.
In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we've designated a grievance officer to address complaints about the Service. See Section 15 for contact details. Complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days, as required under applicable rules.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pune, Maharashtra, India.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where practical, notify users within the app. Continued use of Secoryx after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
